Spirit

In May of 2016, we rescued Spirit, then a 22-year-old Arabian gelding, along with his buddy, Whisper, from a neglectful situation. Both were malnourished and needed some TLC. Shortly thereafter Pegasus donors, Richard and Joan Baker, adopted these boys and took both to their ranch to nourish back to health. Spirit and Whisper thrived under the Bakers' loving care. Unfortunately Whisper passed away in 2022, and Spirit was very lonely. The Bakers decided it was best for Spirit to return to Pegasus so that he could have horse friends again. We welcomed him home with open arms.

Spirit is now 30 years old and shares his large grassy pasture with another Pegasus gelding named Chip. Despite his advanced age and his wispy frame, Spirit is very, uhhhm . . . spirited!! He canters across the pasture for his meals and good-naturedly messes with Chip. He is easy to care for, standing for the vet and farrier without issue. His only limitation is that he cannot live with mares. He acts stud-like and agitates the mares into kicking him. If you are looking for a sweet, easy boy who would love to keep another gelding company, Spirit is your guy!!
